Japan Disaster Relief Print Sale
Last year when the Haiti disaster struck I offered prints sales where all of the proceeds went towards the Haiti disaster relief. Well, sadly a year later we have another disaster that needs our hep. I made some print sales from the Haiti print offer so, I’m offering the same deal for the Japan disaster. It’s not much, but anything will help.:
Yeah Yeah Yeah, Nick Zinner
Last weekend I got to photograph Nick Zinner of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and a few other bands for Blackbook Magazine. The issue is coming out at the end of March and I while I can’t show those pictures just yet, this was an outtake I did for myself after the shoot. More on these shoots after the issue comes out.
Jeff Mallett ROB Magazine Cover
I shot Jeff Mallett a few weeks ago for the cover of Globe & Mail’s ROB magazine. Jeff was the first president and COO of Yahoo and is also an owner of The San Francisco Giants. The article is about Jeff’s bet that MLS soccer is going to be big in Canada and the US and his investing in The Vancouver Whitecaps.
Color Blind
I’m never happy with how I’ve worked color images so I’m always fidgeting with them. I mentioned in a previous post that if I have a retoucher work on an image I usually don’t mess with it (after all, that’s why I paid them to do it). But for some reason when I’m doing the post on an image myself I’m never satisfied. So, I was playing with this skater image that I like and messing around with the look. I like them both. The original treatment of the raw scan is more natural and this version looks a bit more processed. What do you think (poll below):

Had a great weekend with amazing weather here in San Francisco. These are a few Instagram shots from this weekend. I’m toying with the idea of having a weekly “iPhone snaps” post with my favorite iPhone shots of the week since it’s not likely any of them would ever make it to my website (with good reason I realize). I’m also trying out a new Instagram widget here to the right (thanks to Rob Prideaux for letting me know about it… ok Rob, I’ve embraced the iPhone as camera).
