My series of guitarist portraits is up on my site. Here is one of the other guitarists I shot back in December. Not sure what to call this project… right now I’m just going with the obvious “Guitarists.” You can see the full gallery here.
This is Reyka of the band Death Valley High. He’s playing a Ibanez Artist from the 70’s.

Great, someone else talking about the iPad this week… how original.
I haven’t decided if I want one or not just yet but I began to wonder if the freshly announced Apple iPad could be an acceptable portfolio to bring to a portfolio showing. I’ll go ahead and say I don’t think it can beat a great custom designed and printed portfolio with current work… but those are limited to whatever prints you have in your portfolio at any given moment. And as anyone who has a printed portfolio knows, keeping your book current isn’t as easy as one might think… especially if it’s a bound book.

The other day I donated some money to The American Red Cross to help with the Haiti disaster relief. After seeing more of the pictures coming out of Haiti (warning, graphic photos at that link) I decided I wanted to try and do more. So, I will be donating 100% of the proceeds from the next ten print sales* from my etsy page to The American Red Cross or Oxfam (buyer choice) to help with the Haiti disaster relief . Print prices range from $50 – $200 depending on the size of the print, so the larger the print the more money will be going to Haiti relief. All prints are individually custom printed by me.

As if regular guitar face wasn’t enough, here are a few out-takes from the Guitarists shoot I wrote about last week that made me laugh. Now that is some serious guitar face (more below).

As I’ve posted about in the past (here and here), I love guitars and have a few despite how poorly I play them. So, it gave me the idea to start a series of guitarists portraits. One day I was talking about the project with makeup artist Veronica Sjoen on a shoot and she mentioned that she knew the guitarists in a couple of local bands. So with Veronica doing makeup and Tietjen Fischer doing the styling we got the project underway with two local guitarists.
