Overpass

Rob Prideaux keeps trying to convince me to embrace the iPhone and accept it as another tool.  I do find myself taking a lot of pictures I like that I otherwise wouldn’t have.  I’m still not convinced… I still feel lazy.  I’ll go with it for now.  Here are some more Instagram shots.

Instagram

As I’ve written here before, I’ve never been big on the iPhone photography apps out there.  But I’ll have to admit Instagram has made me change my mind.  It’s a fun photography app that not only has all the ultra-hip retro filters the kids seem to like these days but it adds a social component.  It’s like a photo based Twitter.  I’ve never been one of those people who like to take out their camera/cameraphone everywhere and snap pictures, but with Instagram I find myself doing it a lot more often (much to the dismay of certain people around me).

Pier 24 – San Francisco

Although it’s been here for a while, I only recently heard about Pier 24 in San Francisco.  It’s an amazing photography gallery right underneath the Bay Bridge.  Currently they have work from Edward Weston, Richard Misrach, Man Ray, William Eggleston and many others.  It’s free to get in but you must make an appointment.  I highly recommend stopping by if you’re in town.

Rocket

At some point this summer I noticed this rocket ship while on a run down the embarcadero in San Francisco.  I’ve been running by it all summer and just about every time I’ve passed by it I’ve thought about how I’d like to take a picture of it.  Last night on my run I took a quick shot with my iPhone and weather permitting I think I’ll finally head back with a real camera this week.

Happy Kellie

I swore I wasn’t going to jump on the bandwagon of posting iPhone photos processed with the oh-so-cool retro processing applications (which admittedly, I do occasionally like the look of).  But before replacing a defective iPhone I was going through some snapshots on my phone and really liked this shot of my friend Kellie on her birthday at Dolores Park in San Francisco.  But, I do still prefer the real thing.
